A Night at the Opera with Stanford Olsen

For the opening SHSU Symphony Concert in the new James and Nancy Gaertner Performing Arts Center, the orchestra welcomes world-reknowned tenor Stanford Olsen, who will sing arias by Mozart, Donizetti, Rossini, Bizet, Verdi, Puccini and others. The orchestra will also perform Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Procession of the Nobles” from the opera “Mlada” and three orchestral excerpts from operas by Richard Wagner: “Entrance of the Gods into Valhalla” from “Das Rheingold,” “Dance of the Apprentices and Entrance of the Masters” from “Die Meistersinger” and “Ride of the Valkyries” from “Die Walkure.”

Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for students and senior citizens.

Time: Saturday, October 2 ยท 7:30pm – 9:30pm
